My 1st Car Accident

This past Sunday I got in to my first car accident after driving for about 8 years. I was going about 60MPH after merging from 520 to the I-5 freeway and was checking my left blind spot when the car in front of me suddenly brakes. Of course I wasn't looking straight ahead but luckily my friend in the passenger seat yelled "Um... Chris... STOP!" and I slammed on the brakes as I saw the car in front come to a complete stop. I had a good amount of distance from the car ahead, but apparently not enough as I watch the car in front come closer and closer almost in slow-motion. With my tires screeching I managed to slow my car from 60MPH down to approx 10-15MPH when I finally hit.

Damn, I thought to myself. I just got this car repaired from a parking accident my brother had recently, insurance is going to love me today. I turned on my emergency light, grabbed my paper work, and walked outside. This is the damage to my car.

As you can see by the black marks on the bumper, I actually went UNDER the car in front of me. This was very lucky since the other party didn't receive ANY damages besides a scratch on their rear bumper. Nobody was hurt, the officer that assisted us was very nice, and after careful examination of my car I decided to drive it home.

The damages to my car are all minor, mainly the hood, front bumper, under body plastics and wheel well plastics. There was no damages to the engine and not even the radiator! Phew!

Now I'm thinking, what if I was on my motorcycle.... damn that'd suck.

Pet Rules!

Since I've been thinking of adopting a dog, I found this very funny. Wanted to share.

To be posted VERY LOW on the refrigerator door - nose height.

Dear Dogs and Cats,
The dishes with the paw print are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Beating me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.

For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom. If by some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, bark, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years --canine or feline attendance is not required.

The proper order is kiss me, then go smell the other dog or cat's butts. I cannot stress this enough!

To pacify you, my dear pets, I have posted the following message on our front door:

To All Non-Pet Owners Who Visit & Like to Complain About Our Pets:
1. They live here. You don't.
2. If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. That's why they call it "fur"niture.
3. I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.
4. To you, it's an animal. To me, he/she is an adopted son/daughter who is short, hairy, walks on all fours and doesn't speak clearly.

Dogs and cats are better than kids because they:
1. Eat less
2. Don't ask for money all the time
3 Are easier to train
4. Normally come when called
5. Never ask to drive the car
6. Don't hang out with drug-using friends
7. Don't smoke or drink
9. Don't want to wear your clothes
10. Don't need a gazillion dollars for college,
11. If they get pregnant, you can sell their children

PS> Thanks Jon for the entertaining note ;)

SEWebsite Done!

After much delay I finally managed to finish the Silent Epidemic website to make it look more professional. It under a content management system for easy editing and has an interface that's easy to use. It took about 5 hours to program and I'm pretty happy about it. So check it out at and let me know what you think!

Since I feel really lazy this morning and don't feel like writing up about how much I hate cold mornings (37 Degrees to be exact), I'm going to post some pictures to get your morning going. Enjoy!

Allergy Madness

So spring is finally in the air.... and I mean literally. With tree pollen at the highest for the past two weeks here in the rainy washington state ( you could hear sniffing and sneezing all over Seattle as people are still trying to survive the work week. Kleenex sales must be hitting the roof by now since I've been going through boxes like an dog finding a truck full of bacon.

These little pollen grains have been giving me little sleep, itchy eyes, and a nose that runs like a waterfall. My girlfriend is probably thinking "#@%$ing allergies" since my snores have been dramatically louder due to the fact I can't breath through my nose! With 35 Million people in the US alone being affected by allergies each year, it's at least comforting that I'm not alone dealing with this. Now I've tried quite a bit of drugs to help me ease the symptoms (clartin, alvert, nasal sprays, nasal decongestants) but nothing seems to be making me feel even 90%. Worse of all, my asthma is effected by allergies. So imagine while you're sleeping, you already have a stuffed up running nose and itchy eyes, now add on 50% breathing capabilities and you'd be one pissed off tired dude in the morning.

However even through all this madness I still love spring here in Seattle. The weather is getting warmer, daylight savings kicks in so the sun sets at 7pm, tree's are starting to blossom, and most importantly.... the golf season is getting closer!!! I'm already dreaming golf (without having allergies of course), thus is heaven..
